Laajalahti School and Teacher Dormitory

Building history survey

Project description:

The City of Espoo Premises Services commissioned Talli to prepare a building history survey for Laajalahti School and the connected low-rise apartment building built as a dormitory for teachers. Today, Laajalahti School is a primary school for just under three hundred students, with thirteen general education classes. The City of Espoo rents apartments in the former dormitory building.

The survey has been prepared in cooperation with the client and the Espoo City Museum. At the same time as this survey, building history surveys were prepared on two other schools built in Espoo in the 1950s: Haukilahti School and Upper Secondary School and Tuomarila School and Teacher Dormitory. In addition, a building history survey was also prepared for Veljeskulma, a building near Laajalahti School.
