Glass Palace

Project description:
The Glass Palace, designed by architects Niilo Kokko, Viljo Revelli and Heimo Riihimäki, was completed in 1935. Talli designed the renovation of the building in 1998. Almost 20 years after the renovation, major changes were planned to the building. The real estate company founded by Föreningen Konstsamfundet and the City of Helsinki planned to build the Amos Anderson Art Museum partly in Glass Palace, the Glass Palace Square and under the square by 2018. As a result, a building history survey was commissioned from our office, which focused on presenting the appearance after the renovation in 1998 and inventoried the subsequent changes. At the same time with this survey the building and the interiors of the main premises were protected in the town plan.
